Finding a Nanny Job for the Summer

As your school year draws to a close, you know it's time to get and start looking for a summer job. You probably know that the Now Hiring ads for the local burger joint lie about how much “fun” and “personal growth” people get from working for them, so that's out of the question. Working at the local shoe store sounded promising until you realized you'd be standing all day and doing more than just buying shoes with your employee discount. Scratch that idea. In fact, the only thing that sounds reasonable to you is finding a nanny job.

You love kids, don't mind housecleaning, can cook, and you're reliable. Sounds like you're onto something. The first thing you want to do is beef up your nanny resume. Even if you don't have prior nanny experience, add everything you have done. Don't have a lot of work experience yet? Don't worry. Think about the traits a good nanny should have, and match those traits to your own strengths.

For example, if you're athletic, include that in your nanny resume, highlighting the amount of hours you dedicate to your sport, how you work with your teammates, whether you've travelled, what awards you may have received, etc. All of these things really speak to who you are as a person.
